How Apprenticeships Work

To begin an Apprenticeship, you must be employed. If you are still at school or don't have a job yet, don’t worry, we can help you. Visit the next steps section to find out the options available to you to help you find the perfect training programme for you.

Apprenticeships are the perfect route into the work place whilst continuing your education and ensuring that you have the qualifications to back up the skills you gain 'on-the-job'.

Apprenticeships are available at different levels, giving you the chance to choose the speed at which you learn. There are three levels of Apprenticeship available to you:

  • Intermediate – equivalent to 5 GCSE passes
  • Advanced – equivalent to 2 A level passes
  • Higher Apprenticeships – lead to NVQ Level 4 or Foundation Degree
