Learning and earning in North Tyneside

Tyne North Training Limited

Tyne North Training has a 40 year history supporting young people within engineering and manufacturing apprenticeships.

Our geographical scope reaches as far as Morpeth in the north to Sunderland and Durham in the south.

The North East is in short supply of skilled technicians and engineers and compared to the option of going to university, an apprenticeship offers many if not more advantages. Apprenticeships are the route into engineering.

Successful apprentices at Tyne North Training can go on to gain further qualifications, including HNCs, degrees and chartered membership, plus a host of specialist skills training. There is a wide range of disciplines and engineering sectors covered by the Tyne North Training apprenticeship programme.

Why choose us?

What our employers think of us:

"Due to the complexity of the apprentice's technical role, the expertise of the training officer was uppermost in finding the correct pathway. What do parents say about us?

"When my son was considering his options after his GCSEs he knew he wanted to be an engineer but did not know what his full options were. After meeting with Training Officers at a school careers event he was given lots of information which enabled him to make the right choice. He is now enjoying his job knowing that the skills he is learning will set him up for life" Parent

"It was not until my son visited Tyne North Training that he realised the full range of engineering apprenticeships. Our impression was that an engineering apprentice worked in noisy and dirty environments. This is not always the case. He now works in an engineering office designing parts for oil rigs" Parent

"I had heard that some apprenticeships did not actually have a job attached to it. When we met with the Tyne North Training Officers at a careers event it was explained to us that every apprenticeship at Tyne North Training is a paid job. Every apprentice will have a contract of employment and will be paid a weekly wage. In addition to this all the training and college work was absolutely free" Parent
